The Problem
The client was opening a brand new shop and desperately needed branding to match the investment made into the business. The owner wanted a strong brand to create a memorable experience for his customers, one that would capture the target audience. The brand must represent a classy, upscale environment taking elements from the surrounding area, Toronto's famous Yonge-Dundas Square. The goal was to use design to accelerate performance in-person and online.
The award-winning interior design was a focal point for customers who entered. The new brand identity must support the interior through all channels including stationary print, social media, and website.
The Process
The process started with an initial discovery session with the owner. By asking them what they see for their business, its future, and the keywords used to describe its personality, an excellent perspective on the brand's direction should be taken, was gained.
A focal point of the new business was an upscale barbershop, with the presence of a gentlemen's lounge. A pleasant experience for customers with quality grooming services, classy music, and heady cocktails.
Award-winning interior design is to thank for the inspiration of the colour palette, with unique textures and materials throughout the shop. The sleek colours were selected with attention to detail and contrast. The colour selection represents an elegant and masculine feeling, a hybrid between a jazz club and a barbershop.
This was the mood board which was used as inspiration for the branding.
The Solution
The brand identity system was presented and approved by the client, it was now time to implement it. The barbershop required a number of services, including stationary print design for business cards, flyers, menus, storefront signage, and more. They also required high-quality photography and photo editing, which would then be implemented into digital marketing efforts. The digital marketing included Google MyBusiness profile optimization, social media marketing, and website development.
Rich social media content was vital to the campaign for Dundas Square Barbers. Before our partnership, the business had zero digital presence, so the social channels needed a fresh and active solution. In addition, creating quality engagements and impressions for the company was necessary for growth. As a result of these efforts, followers and engagements gained excellent traction.
Quality print material is an important aspect of building a business. Therefore, stationary print such as business cards, letterheads, and other materials must be designed and sourced time-effectively and with quality in mind. After boosting the print quality, the company received outstanding compliments from its peers. The company hands out flyers and business cards to the heavy foot traffic in the surrounding area, consequently building great brand exposure. As a result, there was a surge in new customers.
Professionally captured beautiful photos of the storefront, interior, and services were next. These stunning images are edited and polished, to enhance the Google MyBusiness profile, social media, and website. It is vital to use high-quality images for these channels for the user impression. Overall, our team curated a bold user experience. Consequently, the company has seen great results in gaining revenue from our partnership.
